#3. Anissa Meksen clears air, explains decision to pull out of mixed-rules fight with Stamp Fairtex
Anissa Meksen recently aired her side after she had to pull out of her mixed-rules superfight against Stamp Fairtex at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.
The multi-time Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion didn’t appear on the card’s official weigh-ins as well as the pre-fight press conference.
Her absence at the weigh-ins meant that she was taken off the card and had to be replaced by Anna Jaroonsak. ‘Supergirl’s’ fight against Stamp, though, was ultimately changed into a kickboxing bout.
Addressing the issues surrounding her absence, Meksen posted on Instagram that she had a family situation to take care of:
“The fight will not take place 😞 I want to clarify this because speculation 🤔 I'm not sick I'm fine and I wasn't overweight either. I got a family problem. First time this happens to me in 23 years of career but El hamdulilah. I've always been a pro: never missed a weigh-in and in any situation Injured, sick nothing stops me you know but here unfortunately I had no choice. Sorry teaml🏽🙏🏽 My apologize to [Stamp Fairtex]🙏🏽”
Stamp and Meksen will meet though, with the two strikers set to face each other for the ONE interim atomweight kickboxing world title in the next couple of months.
#2. Aung La N Sang says he’s ready for another shot at the world title
Aung La N Sang once ruled over ONE Championship with the ONE middleweight and light heavyweight world titles slung over his shoulders.
Though his time with the gold is long gone, the Burmese legend remains one of the most influential fighters in the organization.
With two straight knockout wins under his belt, Aung La believes that there’s still at least one more world title run in him and he wants to reclaim the throne that he once firmly sat on.
Aung La secured a dominant first-round win over Brazil’s Gilberto Galvao at ONE Fight Night 6, and it was after his victory that ‘The Burmese Python’ declared that he’s ready for another march to the world title:
“I mean, I've been the most dominant champion. So, I feel like two finishes, and two fights should be it, but it's up to [ONE Championship CEO] Chatri [Sityodtong]. I have one run in me and I need to make the most of it. It's really up to Chatri and the ONE team, but I'm ready, man, I'm ready whenever you guys are.”
Aung La first captured the ONE middleweight world title when he beat Vitaly Bigdash in June 2017. He then added light heavyweight gold to his collection when he battered Alexandre Machado to a first-round knockout in February 2018.
The 37-year-old star is the second two-division champion in ONE Championship history and is one of five MMA fighters to hold two world titles simultaneously.

#1. Rodtang Jitmuangnon keen on joining ONE Championship's 1 million-dollar Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix
ONE Championship CEO Chatri Sityodtong sent shockwaves across the martial arts world when he announced during the ONE Fight Night 6 press conference that the promotion will stage the ONE Openweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix.
The tournament will pit 16 of the best strikers in the world for a chance at a cool $1 million, and Thai megastar Rodtang Jitmuangnon wants in on the action.
The reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion is coming off a dominant unanimous decision win over Jiduo Yibu at ONE Fight Night 6, and it was after his fight that he expressed his desire to join ONE Championship's massive tournament:
“Of course, I have to fight every opponent that I have been matched with in order to get the big prize.”
Rodtang has 270 career wins to his name and is a perfect 13-0 in his striking matches in ONE Championship.
