Welcome to today's edition of the daily Sportskeeda ONE Championship News Roundup, where we present the promotion's most important stories.

Today, we’ll discuss Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida teasing his return, Fabricio Andrade’s desire to finish the job against John Lineker, and Sage Northcutt’s take on the dreaded 'ring rust'.

#3. Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida hints at fight booking in ONE Championship’s first U.S. event

Many Brazilian jiu-jitsu stars have made a successful foray into mixed martial arts over the years. However, it seems Marcus ‘Buchecha’ Almeida has had the smoothest transition of them all.

The Brazilian grappling icon has looked invincible in his first four MMA fights, which have all taken place inside the circle.

After four first-round finishes, it’s not surprising that ‘Buchecha’ has become a hot commodity in the largest martial arts organization in the world.

With that said, fans won’t have to wait long to see him back in action.

In an Instagram post, the 33-year-old said he’s looking forward to fighting alongside his good friend Adriano Moraes real soon.

‘Mikinho’, of course, will be the co-headliner of ONE on Prime Video 10 this May, which just so happens to be the promotion’s on-site debut in the United States.

'Buchecha' wrote:

“Me and @moraesadrianomma during our last camp! Enjoying the ride and every moment of it! Soon we will be battling side by side again inside the @onechampionship circle, I can’t wait!”

#2. Fabricio Andrade laser-focused on knocking out John Lineker in rematch

Fabricio Andrade is already calling himself the “uncrowned king” of the promotion’s bantamweight division.

‘Wonder Boy’ does have a solid case, since he would have had the gold strap by now if only his knee had hit John Lineker a few centimeters higher in their initial match last year.

The two bitter rivals will settle the score in one of the biggest rematches in the promotion's history at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video next month.

Andrade took the leap to superstardom last year and is now considered one of the most exciting fighters in the world. While the future is certainly bright for the 25-year-old, the only thing on his mind at the moment is to decimate Lineker and claim the world title.

Andrade told The MMA Superfan:

“There are a lot of options, but what matters now is what is in front of me and that's John Lineker. So I need to go there. I need to knock him out. And after that, I'm going to sit with ONE Championship and we're going to see what is the best thing to do after.”

#1. Sage Northcutt says ring rust won’t be a problem for him

Sage Northcutt is eager to silence his doubters on his highly anticipated return.

After a long layoff due to some health concerns, the American will fight on his home soil at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video in May against Ahmed Mujtaba.

‘Super’ Sage’s promotional debut back in 2019 did not go exactly as planned, as he was knocked out by Cosmo Alexandre. On top of that, pundits are also questioning how he’ll fare after being inactive for so long.

Northcutt addressed these concerns in a guest appearance on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour:

“A lot of people will be thinking, ‘Hey, Sage might have some ring rust.’ It’s been three-and-a-half years. It’s a little bit of time. But I’ve been training, I’ve been staying sharp. I feel like I’ve improved in a lot of different areas. I’m looking forward to showing it.”
