#3. “I have another game plan for him” - Chingiz Allazov envisions fighting Regian Eersel at lightweight

Chingiz Allazov is looking to elevate his name in ONE Championship, and the first match he wants to do after capturing the ONE featherweight kickboxing world title is a super fight against Regian Eersel.

‘Chinga’ recently won the gold when he scored a second-round knockout win over Superbon Singha Mawynn at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video this past week.

Just minutes after receiving the belt, Allazov called out Eersel and challenged him for the ONE lightweight kickboxing world championship.

In his interview with South China Morning Post, Allazov stated that he has no problems going up to lightweight and facing Eersel:

“I like this fight. For me, no problem if my opponent is 77 kilos. I’m ready. I have power and he has power. I have another game plan for him. If ONE Championship gives me this fight, all right. Let’s do this.”

#2. Mikey Musumeci says Gantumur Bayanduuren was his toughest opponent in ONE Championship so far

Mikey Musumeci has fought grappling masters in his young ONE Championship career, but he admitted that no one could compare to Gantumur Bayanduuren in terms of sheer toughness.

‘Darth Rigatoni’ retained his ONE flyweight submission grappling world title when he beat Bayanduuren via unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 6 this past week.

Although Musumeci had Bayanduuren in his signature Mikey Lock, the Mongolian fighter toughened it out and stayed until the final bell. In an interview with SCMP, Musumeci said he was impressed with Bayanduuren’s toughness while also praising his opponent’s martial arts background:

“He’s more skilled than the opponent I was going to face because he is an MMA fighter and does jiu-jitsu, so he knows jiu-jitsu. The problem with the other matches, the Sport Sambo guys didn’t know jiu-jitsu at all. Gantumur [Bayanduuren] is a high-level brown belt in jiu-jitsu and he’s a combat sambo world champion, which is basically like MMA.”

Bayanduuren’s toughness, however, proved costly. SCMP reported that Bayanduuren suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus as well as a broken ankle.

#1. Demetrious Johnson shoots down idea of a fourth fight with Adriano Moraes, regardless of the result of their trilogy

Demetrious Johnson and Adriano Moraes have produced one of the greatest rivalries ONE Championship has ever seen, but the reigning ONE flyweight world champion wants it to have a definite end.

While it’s an interesting prospect to see Moraes and Johnson go to a fourth match, ‘Mighty Mouse’ immediately shot down the idea.

Johnson and Moraes, who are 1-1 in their head-to-head matchup, will have their trilogy match in the main event of ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video in ONE Championship’s US soil debut on May 5 at 1stBank Center in Colorado.

During ONE Fight Night 6’s post-fight video press conference, Johnson said that there won’t be a fourth match against Moraes and that they’ll each face new opponents after ONE Fight Night 10:

“I know that fans are looking forward to this trilogy fight because we have 1-1, but regardless, after fighting Adriano, we won't fight for a fourth time. We'll get some fresh blood and give the fans what they want.”

Moraes first beat Johnson when he put the American legend to sleep with a grounded knee at ONE on TNT I in April 2021. Johnson exacted revenge a year later when his flying knee sent Moraes to the shadow realm at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022.
