#3. Regian Eersel vs. Sinsamut Klinmee rematch for the ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title set

The first match between Regian Eersel and Sinsamut Klinmee was a highly technical affair for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title.

After a five-round chess match between the two striking masters, Eersel was declared the winner via split decision making him a simultaneous two-sport world champion in ONE Championship.

With such a fight being broken down into its most minute details, a rematch was expected and a second bout between Eersel and Sinsamut was set for a ONE Friday Fights offering on March 17.

Eersel, who also owns the ONE lightweight kickboxing world title, and Sinsamut first faced each other at ONE on Prime Video 3 in a showcase of the two best lightweight strikers in ONE Championship.

The early part of the first match saw Eersel take control with his aggressive boxing and constant leg kicks. Midway through the contest, Sinsamut found his footing and began tagging the Surinamese star with combinations of his own.

Eersel dug deep in the final round and wrestled the momentum back that earned him the win.

#2. Reinier de Ridder to face Tye Ruotolo in a submission grappling super-fight at ONE Fight Night 10

It’s been teased before and now it’s finally coming to fruition.

ONE middleweight world champion Reinier de Ridder and Brazilian jiu-jitsu phenom Tye Ruotolo are set to face each other in a submission grappling super match at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video at 1stBank Center in Colorado.

ONE Fight Night 10 is ONE Championship’s first on-site debut in the United States and will transpire on May 5.

ONE Championship announced on Instagram:

“Challenge ACCEPTED 🤝 ONE Middleweight World Champion Reinier de Ridder returns to submission grappling to face BJJ phenom Tye Ruotolo on May 5 at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video! 🇺🇸 @deriddermma @ruotolobrothersjiujitsu."

‘The Dutch Knight’ is one of the best grapplers in the world and he’s no stranger to competing under submission grappling. De Ridder was instrumental in building the sport when he faced BJJ legend Andre Galvao at ONE X in March 2022.

De Ridder, who also once held the ONE light heavyweight world title, has seven wins inside the Circle with four of those victories coming by way of submission.

Ruotolo, meanwhile, is a perfect 2-0 in ONE Championship with submission wins over Garry Tonon and former ONE featherweight world champion Marat Gafurov.

#1. Adriano Moraes excited to close the book on Demetrious Johnson rivalry

Adriano Moraes has had several rivalries in ONE Championship, but none would compare to the one he has with the legendary Demetrious Johnson.

The Brazilian superstar is 1-1 in his head-to-head matchup with Johnson with both fighters holding knockout wins over each other. Both of those matches, too, were fought for the ONE flyweight world title.

Johnson now holds the strap, and Moraes wants nothing more than to regain what he once owned in their trilogy match at ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video at 1stBank Center on May 5.

In an interview with South China Morning Post, Moraes spoke highly of Johnson and his rivalry with him. ‘Mikinho’ is also looking forward to ending his rivalry against the man whom many people call the greatest of all time:

“He’s a great man and he’s an example for everybody in and out [of the Circle]. I see this trilogy as a dream come true. It’s one and one. I gave him the opportunity to get his strap. Now, he gave me this opportunity to fight him again, to try to recover my belt again.”

Moraes first met Johnson at ONE on TNT I in April 2021 wherein he knocked out the American legend with a knee strike to retain the ONE flyweight world title. Johnson returned the favor in their rematch at ONE on Prime Video 1 in August 2022 when he slept Moraes with a flying knee to capture the gold.

ONE Fight Night 10 will be ONE Championship’s first on-site US event and will be streamed live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
