#3. “I love a good test” - Jonathan Haggerty wants a go at Fabricio Andrade if he transitions to MMA

Jonathan Haggerty is moving up a weight class, and he’s not just looking at the Muay Thai landscape of the bantamweight division. The former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion seems to have put a target on Fabricio Andrade’s back and wants to have a match with the No.1-ranked bantamweight contender.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Haggerty said he’d love to test himself against Andrade’s striking style in what could be a firefight of a contest.

“Now we’re talking about bantamweight. The belt is vacant now, but Fabricio Andrade is really good. He’s really good stand-up-wise. I’d love to test myself. I love a good test. You can tell by the people I’ve been in the ring with. I get in the best to be the best. That’s my saying, take risks and prosper.”

Though he’s only fought striking matches in ONE Championship, Haggerty revealed that he also trains in MMA on top of his Muay Thai regimen.

#2. “I ended up giving him a chance” - Fabricio Andrade admits to making a big mistake in second round against John Lineker

The main event of ONE on Prime Video 3 between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker was already treading into classical territory up until the fight’s final strike.

Andrade was dominant for most of the fight, however, he made the unfortunate mistake of tagging Lineker in the groin area, leading to the match ending in a no-contest.

Though the accidental knee strike was what caused the finish in the third round, Andrade said that he also regretted what he did in the second. Andrade charged haphazardly in the second round, and this allowed Lineker to get some of his offense in. ‘Wonder Boy’ said that his reckless approach exposed him to Lineker’s heavy punches during the round.

Andrade, in an interview with South China Morning Post, said:

“I ended up exposing myself, which is something I don’t normally do. I don’t want to go there, I don’t want to get hit. I know I’m a level above those guys. I don’t want to go there and give him a chance. I ended up giving him a chance because I was rushing myself too much.”

Though he left Kuala Lumpur without the belt, Andrade reached superstar status and that will remain with him for years into his career.

#1. “This fight is a big opportunity for me” - Christian Lee is aware of the magnitude of his hunt for a second ONE Championship belt

Christian Lee is already one of the greatest fighters in ONE Championship history, but the 24-year-old is far from his peak. The ONE lightweight world champion will move up a division and challenge Kiamrian Abbasov for the ONE welterweight world title in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Lee described just how important his fight against Abbasov is and how grateful he was to ONE Championship for giving him the chance to fight for a second world title:

“This fight is a big opportunity for me, and I’m grateful that ONE Championship has allowed me to move up to welterweight and get a shot at the belt. Right now, I’m not really thinking of anything else than working as hard as I can to claim that title.”
