Reigning ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion Angela “Unstoppable” Lee, 21, and her brother and fellow ONE Championship athlete Christian “The Warrior” Lee, 19, are from a tight-knit family. Like them, their Singaporean-Hawaiian father Ken Lee and South Korean-Canadian mother Jewelz Lee are also martial artists.
Mixed martial arts fans were witness to how Ken and Jewelz celebrate with Angela and Christian inside the cage each time the ONE Championship fighters win a bout. On November 24, 2017, Angela was scheduled to defend her title from Mei “V.V.” Yamaguchi, 35, of Japan at “ONE: Immortal Pursuit.”
It was supposed to be a rematch between Angela and Yamaguchi. When they fought on May 6, 2016, at “ONE: Ascent to Power” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, Angela won via unanimous decision.
However, Angela was injured in a vehicular accident in Hawaii weeks before the fight night so she had to pull out of the competition. She was replaced by Gina “Conviction” Iniong, 28, of the Philippines who lost to Yamaguchi via unanimous decision.

With the support of her family, Angela recovered quickly and went back to training. Her rematch with Yamaguchi will finally take place on May 18, 2018, at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Currently, Yamaguchi holds a professional MMA record of 17 wins, 10 losses, and 1 draw while Angela is still an undefeated fighter with 8 wins. If Angela wins at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams, it will be the fifth time she wins a bout in his father’s home country.
What makes competing again in Singapore special for Angela is not only the fact that it is a rematch between her and Yamaguchi. During the international media conference call on March 21, 2018, Angela said there is no greater honor than winning in her father’s home country.
“My dad is the most important man in my life,” Angela declared. “He’s just given me everything. He’s taught me all the values, all the hard work and discipline and life lessons.”
For Angela, there is no greater feeling than making his father very proud. The reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion is very happy to be able to have her father come back to the country where he was born in, to represent the Singaporean flag and to have all her family and relatives in Singapore watch her compete at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams.”
While Angela is defending her title at “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams,” her younger brother will challenge a titleholder. Christian will make an attempt to claim the ONE Featherweight World Champion title from Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, 29, of Australia, who also currently holds the ONE Lightweight World Champion title.
