History is about to unfold in the main event of ONE on Prime Video 4 when Christian Lee faces off against Kiamrian Abbasov this Friday, November 18, at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Lee, the reigning ONE lightweight world champion, plans to join the exclusive club of two-division world champions when he fights Abbasov for the ONE welterweight world title.

Achieving that feat, however, will be easier said than done.

Abbasov is as indomitable as anyone after having won the ONE welterweight world title in October 2019 when he battered Zebaztian Kadestam for the belt at ONE: Dawn of Valor in Jakarta.

Unfortunately for the Kyrgyzstani-Russian star, he lost his world title after missing weight during the official weigh-ins as per the South China Morning Post.

This leaves Lee as the only man eligible to win the world title during their catchweight bout.

Lee, meanwhile, is arguably the most prolific fighter in the promotion's history. The Singaporean-American star is on his second reign atop the lightweight division and holds a multitude of records.

The lightweight king has the most wins in the organization with 16, the most finishes at 15, and the most knockouts at 11.

This fight will surely be a titanic clash and Sportskeeda MMA’s ONE Championship team will try to predict if Lee will step out of circle with the ONE welterweight world title in tow, or if Abbasov can at least get an important win.

Atilano Diaz: Christian Lee by third-round TKO

Coming from featherweight, I had serious concerns about Christian being too small for welterweight. But after seeing him face off with Kiamrian Abbasov at the final press conference, size and weight will not be an issue here. From some angles, Christian looks even bigger than the champion.

Kiamrian is a good fighter, but Christian is special. He's a generational talent. In terms of promoting himself, talking trash, and generating spectacle, Christian may not be the best.

But when we talk about fighting skills, he's definitely in the god tier. There are few fighters in the world like Christian Lee, and he's going to prove this again on Friday night.

Look for Christian Lee to blitz Abbasov early, catching him in the standup to force his opponent back up against the fence. From there, Christian is going to hurt Abbasov until he finishes him.

Reinier de Ridder said Abbasov is tough to beat down, so I expect him to make it to the third round, where Christian should be able to put the finishing touches.

Ben Imperial: Christian Lee by finish

A lot has been said about Christian Lee not being as big as Kiamrian Abbasov because he's moving up in weight, but if you saw the two of them at the press conference, that does not seem to be true.

If you had told me five years ago that Lee would be fighting for a welterweight belt, I would not have believed you, considering his physique. However, he has really grown, both in skill and physically. It wasn't long ago when Lee looked like a bigger and better version of himself, annihilating Ok Rae Yoon.

I believe it is truly the perfect time for him to be challenging for the welterweight belt. With all due respect to the potentially more heavy-handed and better wrestler in Kiamrian Abbasov, I think Christian Lee will take this one and not let it go to the scorecards.

Ted Razon: Kiamrian Abbasov by split decision

It’s hard to side against Christian Lee considering his amazing run as of late. Abbasov, though, can certainly put the clamps on an electric fighter such as ‘The Warrior’.

The Kyrgyzstani-Russian’s punishing Greco-Roman wrestling is a handful for anybody, especially for a challenger making his debut at a higher weight class.

While Lee thinks Abbasov’s size advantage won’t matter — it eventually will, especially if this fight reaches the championship rounds.

The lightweight world champion will spend most of this fight on his back or against the circle walls. It’s going to be extremely challenging to win from down there against Abbasov’s smothering style.

Plus, he’s going to be carrying Abbasov’s crushing weight the entire time, while trying to fend off his ground and pound. Lee is still going to have his moments, for sure, and he might even catch Abbasov on the feet a few times.

However, Abbasov’s chin can certainly hold up and he can always go back to his wrestling whenever Lee gets too comfortable with his striking.

I see Abbasov retaining his welterweight world title via a close split decision.

Vince Richards: Christian Lee by fourth-round TKO

This is a fight between two contrasting styles. Kiamrian Abbasov has this technical and methodical approach while Christian Lee utilizes an aggressive and sometimes barbaric charge in his fights.

Abbasov has all the capabilities of neutralizing anyone he comes across, but Lee is a different kind of fighter. If Abbasov can absorb Lee’s punishment, just like what Ok Rae Yoon did before him, then he could probably be looking at a decision win.

Lee, though, can quickly overwhelm anyone. It will be interesting to see Lee, who’s coming up a weightclass, sustain his speed and power in the welterweigh.

I’m giving this fight to Lee due to his intense aggression and power, and I feel that he has what it takes to chop down Abbasov during the fight.
