Power Slap is one of the most intriguing and controversial combat events. Executively produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship's president, Dana White, Power Slap is quite popular among the fight fans, whether or not they actually see the sport. The promotion also produces a reality show, based on the contenders competing in the slap league, also known as 'Power Slap: Road to the Title'.

The last Power Slap event took place in June 2024 in Las Vegas, United States, for Power Slap 8: Da Crazy Hawaiian vs. Heerden. Da Crazy Hawaiian won the bout via a unanimous decision. Moreover, the Power Slap is now gearing up for another live event on October 24, 2024, for Power Slap 9 at the Space42 Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Layne Koa Viernes is one of the most popular and celebrated contestants in the Power Slap. Fighting out of Nanakuli, Hawaii, the 33-year-old super heavyweight champion is a spectacle to be seen slapping on the podium.

As per the Power Slap website, Koa Viernes boasts a record of 14 wins and 1 loss in slap fighting as of October 22, 2024. Moreover, the majority of his wins came via knockouts(12).

The super heavyweight champion will be returning back for Power Slap 9 on October 24, 2024, in Abu Dhabi, UAE, against Vasilii Kamotski. It will be Viernes' second title defense as the champion of the division.
