Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone who was planning on moving to welterweight if not given a lightweight championship shot has been granted his wish. He would face Rafael Dos Anjos for the lightweight title at UFC on FOX 17 on Dec. 19, 2015, inside Amway Center in Orlando, Florida.
After the announcement by FOX sports the Brazilian Anjos posted on social media "Here we go, God lift me up for one more mission, the victory it's out there, I just gonna go there and get it."

“The Cowboy” (28-6, 1 NC) has earlier faced Rafael (24-7) in 2013 lost that fight via unanimous decision has since gone on a tremendous winning streak by winning his last eight fights by guarantying a title shot anytime he wanted which he has eventually been granted after a lot of patience. Anjos defeated Anthony Pettis for the title in march and has since been nursing a knee injury. No other fight has been announced on the card. What are your thoughts about who would walk out as champion?

Ben Rothwell (35-9) has been at his resurgent best, with the veteran winning and finishing his last three fights.
The bout is going to co-main event the card that is headlined by a five-round lightweight main event by Dustin Poirier and the fast rising “Irish” Joe Duffy that would be held on Oct.24, 2015, in Ireland, Dublin.
