The main event is anticipated to be a rematch for the UFC Women's Flyweight Championship between current champion Alexa Grasso and prior champion Valentina Shevchenko.
Shavkat Rakhmonov and Kelvin Gastelum, who was the middleweight champion of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Jones vs. Team Sonnen, were scheduled to face off in a welterweight match at the occasion. Gastelum, however, quit after suffering a face fracture. At this time, it is unclear whether the fight will be rescheduled or if a different opponent will be chosen.

Elise Reed and Cynthia Calvillo were scheduled to fight at strawweight during the event. Calvillo, however, withdrew for unclear reasons, and Iasmin Lucindo took his place in a catchweight fight weighing 120 pounds. For unclear reasons, Reed was then substituted by Josefine Lindgren Knutsson in the event.
