When it rains, it pours.... the phrase being apt for Jon Jones and his troubles outside of the Octagon. The stream of bad news continued for the troubled UFC Light heavyweight lynchpin as Reebok, the prime sponsor of UFC, cancelled its enhanced sponsorship deal of Jon Jones following his involvement in the hit&run case on Sunday
This latest development comes in the wake of the UFC stripping Jones of his UFC Light Heavyweight title a day earlier and less than a year after Nike severed their ties with the 27-year old MMA prodigy following his brawl with Daniel Cormier last year. The news was first broken by ESPN reporter Darren Rovell:
A Reebok representative confirmed to MMAjunkie that “in light of recent events, we’ve made the decision to terminate our contract with Jon Jones, effective immediately.”
