There are a few things in the world that truly excite Reinier de Ridder: a high-level jiu-jitsu match and a great fight card at ONE Championship.

Surely one of the greatest fight cards in promotional history, ONE Fight Night 10: Johnson vs. Moraes III, is anticipated to be the type of event that will be talked about for many years to come.

Taking place on US ground for the first time in history, the best mainstream stars from America, Asia, and Europe will showcase their talents to make ONE Championship’s US debut in Denver, Colorado, an action-packed night for sports fans across the globe.

Sharing in its excitement, ‘The Dutch Knight’ Reinier de Ridder, who is also expected to feature in its main event with a middleweight submission grappling match against 2022 ADCC absolutes bronze medalist Tye Ruotolo, listed some of his favorite matchups ahead of ONE Fight Night 10.

The 32-year-old slugger told SCMP MMA:

“Cool, man and there’s a lot of great fights on the card. It’s cool Aung La [N Sang] and Fan Rong, of course. Yesterday, someone told me that [Roberto] Soldic and [Zebaztian] Kadestam are fighting. That’s a great fight. Two bangers, very cool fight to watch. DJ and [Adriano] Moraes, of course. It’s stacked from top to bottom.”

Aung La N Sang calls Reinier de Ridder a “one-trick pony”

Among the many stars fighting at ONE Fight Night 10, former middleweight adversary to Reinier de Ridder, Aung La N Sang, is eager to get his third chance at gold by getting his next win on May 5.

The former two-division world champion has a grudge to settle after losing both the light heavyweight and middleweight belts to De Ridder back in 2020 and 2021, respectively. With Reinier de Ridder losing his heavier belt to Anatoly Malykhin by upset last January, Aung La has grounds to believe that the time has come for him to take the belt while the champion is at his most vulnerable.

Ahead of his third match against Fan Rong, Aung La N Sang is grateful to Malykhin for exposing what is mostly known about De Ridder’s game plan. In the same interview, ‘The Burmese Python’ had this to say about his long-time rival:

“You think about it right, RDR is a one-trick pony. He takes a person down and he grapples them, grounds and pounds them right? What other way does he win?”
