At ONE on Prime Video 4 ONE Muay Thai fighters Rodtang and Jonathan Haggerty will clash in what is expected to be an explosive confrontation. However, it's not the first time the two have battled.
The two first fought at ONE: Dawn of Heroes on August 2, 2019 in Manila. The first of their two meetings went down to the wire and the judges’ scorecards. Even the commentators were unsure who edged it out after five rounds.

Haggerty- the champ at the time- likely took the first few rounds off of a strong teep kick and head kick that landed flush on the challenger. As the fight wore into the championship rounds, however, Rodtang’s aggression increased while Haggerty’s volume began to decrease.
The biggest round for Thailand’s Rodtang was round four, where he dropped England’s Haggerty with an overhand right. Exploding forward with violent bursts of punches, he began took over in the later rounds. Rodtang won the judges’ decision to become the new ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion.
If there was any doubters in the original decision from their first fight, he later silenced them by defending his belt against Haggerty in 2020. Rodtang finished Haggerty by TKO in round three. He remains the world champion to this day, and he’ll attempt to defend the belt against Joseph Lasiri this weekend in Singapore.
Rodtang evaluates Joseph Lasiri’s strengths and weaknesses ahead of fight
Facing yet another tough challenge to his world title reign, Rodtang will fight reigning ONE Muay Thai strawweight world champion Joseph Lasiri this weekend. The bout is the co-main event of ONE on Prime Video 4.
In an interview with ONE Championship, the Muay Thai world champion gave an evaluation of his future opponent:
“His strength is his Muay Thai experience. He has fought many elite Thai fighters. He used to train Muay Thai in Thailand. Another one is his agility, which I can't underestimate. As for his weakness, I think my strikes are heavier than his. If we trade, I'm sure I can knock him down.”
According to Rodtang, the fight may play out as agility vs. power. Of course, fans would be hard pressed to find a Muay Thai fighter in ONE Championship who throws their punches harder than him. His aggressive style of channeling his full body power is hard to overcome, and could swallow up the smaller fighter Lasiri this weekend, who is moving up in weight.
If successful, the fight will become his fourth title defense in ONE Championship. The event streams completely free and exclusively on Amazon Prime, and features a main event between ONE world champions Kiamrian Abbasov and Christian Lee.
