Robert Whittaker is a well-known Australian professional mixed martial artist who fights in the middleweight division. Currently signed with the elite professional mixed martial arts promotion the UFC, Whittaker is a former middleweight champion of the promotion. He is one of the leading contenders in the organization’s middleweight division and as of October 24, 2024, is ranked No. 3. Whittaker made his professional mixed martial arts debut on March 14, 2009, against Chris Tallowin at XFC 14. Whittaker made an aggressive statement in the fight by shutting Tallowin’s lights off in the first round to win and start his career on a winning note. After taking off with a win, Whittaker competed in multiple professional mixed martial arts promotions before joining the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

After amassing an impressive record of 9 wins and 2 losses Robert Whittaker eventually entered the UFC octagon in his promotional debut on December 15, 2012, against Brad Scott. He won the fight by a unanimous decision to keep his winning momentum intact while announcing his arrival at the leading professional mixed martial arts organization.
