Rodtang said he would be willing to accept a kickboxing showdown with free agent Takeru Segawa but admits he would have a slight disadvantage.
Martial arts enthusiasts have long been calling for a ONE Championship vs. K-1 crossover between two of their promotion’s best strikers.
After Takeru Segawa, a former three-division kickboxing world champion, announced he’s a free agent last month, Rodtang spared no time in calling out the Japanese star on Instagram.

Takeru is also interested in making the fight happen under the ONE Championship banner. However, he’s currently taking a long and well-deserved break from competition to focus on his health.
Reminded again by ONE Championship about a potential kickboxing showdown between himself and Takeru, the 25-year-old Thai fighter answered:
“I'm definitely at a disadvantage for him in kickboxing, because he's competed in kickboxing for all his life, while my background is Muay Thai. But if he is not careful enough, I can beat him with my deadly punch as well. So, I must say it depends on the game plan, not the specific rule set.”
Back in February 2021, Rodtang dabbled in kickboxing, garnering his only kickboxing win under the promotion against Tagir Khalilov at ONE: Fists of Fury.
It was a successful endeavor, however brief it was. But as ‘The Iron Man’ mentioned, if it’s a kickboxing war that fans want, he’s 100% confident he can give even someone as good as Takeru Segawa a run for his money.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon doesn’t foresee a decision win over Joseph Lasiri
Rodtang Jitmuangnon is a man of his word. If he says he’ll end the fight early with a shot to the gut or an elbow to the nose, you better believe ‘The Iron Man’s’ got a good chance of following through.
The Pattaya-bred phenom returns to the circle to defend his flyweight Muay Thai belt against newly crowned strawweight Muay Thai world champion Joseph Lasiri at ONE on Prime Video 4. Lasiri returns to his previous weight class at flyweight for a chance to become a rare double world champion.
Although Rodtang admires Lasiri’s courage in his endeavor, he’s certain that the Italian-Moroccan striker might not be at his level yet.
Speaking to ONE Championship ahead of his blockbuster match with Lasiri, 'The Iron Man' explained how he foresees the fight ending:
“I expect to knock him out in round three. I want to knock him out with a high kick. But it would be tricky because he is too tall to reach. So, I think I’d knock him out with my killer punch and elbow instead.”
