Rodtang Jitmuangnon is setting his sights on two-sport glory. The reigning flyweight Muay Thai world champion plans on making a run at the promotion’s flyweight kickboxing crown, but first, he’ll need to get past dangerous Chinese striker Jiduo Yibu this Friday night.
Originally scheduled to face Daniel Puertas at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, ‘The Iron Man’ will square off with Yibu, a 23-year-old with 40 career wins who will be making his second appearance inside the circle.
With a victory, Rodtang Jitmuangnon hopes to put himself in position for a shot at the division’s kickboxing crown:
“I am confident and determined... I’ll try my best to reach my goal. I can see the finish line appearing. I have to try my best. It is not difficult if you try hard enough.”

Rodtang continued, saying:
“I am more than ready because it is not the first time I have fought in kickboxing. And, I’m the No. 1 ranked contender. So, I think I have the right to challenge for kickboxing gold with either Superlek or Daniel.”
In the co-main event this Friday night, the flyweight kickboxing title will be up for grabs as Muay Thai sensation Superlek Kiatmoo9 straps on the 8oz gloves for a five-round war with Daniel Puertas.
Rodtang Jitmuangnon hopes to see mixed-rules bouts evolve in ONE Championship
‘The Iron Man’ is no stranger to making history in ONE Championship. He did exactly that last March at the promotion’s 10th-year anniversary showcase ONE X. Rodtang competed in the promotion’s first-ever mixed-rules bout featuring a combination of Muay Thai and MMA rule sets. Competing with another flyweight great, Demetrious Johnson, the pair delivered a critically-acclaimed contest.
Eager to see ONE continue to utilize and evolve the concept of mixed-rules superfights, Rodtang suggested another way the promotion can capitalize on the unique matchmaking;
“I’m happy that ONE wants to do something different again. It’s a treat for martial art fans around the world to watch. It is great fun to predict who will win in this fight and what round. It doesn't matter if it is female or male or cross-division. Or perhaps we may have triathlon matches in the future -- first-round Muay Thai, second-round MMA, and final-round kickboxing.”
Fans in North America can catch Rodtang Jitmuangnon in action this Friday night in U.S. primetime, live and for free on Amazon Prime Video.
