Rodtang says Superlek needs to switch things up for kickboxing world title fight against Daniel Puertas

Flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon says Superlek Kiatmoo9 needs to alter his game plan if he's to secure the vacant kickboxing flyweight world title at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video.

Superlek is preparing to square off with Spain's Daniel Puertas in the co-headliner of ONE Fight Night 6. Despite entering the contest as the betting favorite, 'Iron Man' believes Superlek could be in trouble if he doesn't prepare the right way.

He told SCMP MMA:

"It depends on how Superlek is preparing for this fight because Puertas is a very great kickboxing fighter. If Superlek is fighting the same way he fought the same way as he did before it would be a little bit harder."

Superlek has been on a tear since his first attempt at acquiring the flyweight kickboxing title. Following that loss, the Thai striker rattled off three straight ONE Championship victories, including beating a trio of top-five contenders.

Jonathan Haggerty picks who he thinks would win a matchup between Rodtang and Superlek

Surging English striker Jonathan Haggerty has already shared the circle with the flyweight Muay Thai champ on two different occasions, losing twice.

Haggerty hopes to one day see a matchup between 'Iron Man' and Superlek, to which he's already made his pick. He revealed to ONE:

“I think Superlek is the favorite. It’s hard to pick though isn’t it... So hard. Actually, if I had to, I’d say Rodtang. Because if he comes up against Superlek, he’s going to train as hard as he can, but I wouldn’t put any money on it... I hope it’s Superlek [that wins the tournament] though, as I’d love to fight him.”

A matchup between two of the world's top Muay Thai practitioners would be must-watch television and worthy of a headlining slot. It's tough to envision a world where their paths never cross, as it seems to be just a matter of time.
