The No.3 ranked heavyweight contender in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Sergei Pavlovich is nothing short of a phenomenal fighter. Starting his professional career in 2014, the 32-year-old heavyweight currently maintains an impeccable record of 18 wins and 3 losses in mixed martial arts. The majority of his wins are via knockout(15) and the rest via decision(3). Even though Pavlovich has a wrestling background, he is still yet to finish an opponent on the ground. However, the intense and explosive knockout power, the Russian holds is exceptional.

Before competing in the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Sergei Pavlovich most of his career fighting at Fight Nights Global, where he was the inaugural heavyweight champion. And also has successfully defended the title once before moving on to the UFC. The Russian fighter was undefeated until his promotional debut inside the octagon.

For his UFC debut, Sergei Pavlovich faced Alistair Overeem on November 24, 2018, at UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Ngannou 2 in Beijing, China. At 4:21 in the first round, Overeem TKO’d Pavlovich and the Russian heavyweight suffered the first-ever loss in his mixed martial arts career. However, Pavlovich bounced back from the only loss in his next fight and had maintained a six-fight win streak, up until his last two fights.

During his previous showdown, Sergei Pavlovich faced Alexander Volkov at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Aliskerov on June 22, 2024, at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And after three rounds of intense fist exchanges, Pavlovich lost to Volkov via a unanimous decision from the judges.

Sergei Pavlovich had trained at the American Kickboxing Academy[AKA] under the head coach Javier Mendez. Like many UFC veterans, Pavlovich also turned out to be an exceptional fighter trained in the gym. Some of the other fighters who had previously trained at AKA are the former UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov, former UFC double champion, Daniel Cormier, current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, etc.
