"Sex sells but so does blood" - Former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez backs Uriah Hall's recent claim that ring girls make more than fighters

Former UFC fighter Diego Sanchez has echoed a sentiment recently shared by Uriah Hall regarding fighter pay in the UFC in comparison to ring girls.

'The Nightmare' uploaded a post to his private Instagram account where he expressed support for Hall. In the caption of the post, Sanchez argued that fighters should be paid more for putting their lives on the line for people's entertainment.

"Sex sells but so does blood and the entertaining of the people with all the risk on the fighter. With death and bodily harm as tthe risk I think we fighters should take more of the cake! But all fighters know why ring girls get paid so much."

Diego Sanchez backs Uriah Hall's claim regarding fighter pay

Hall recently spoke about the issue of fighter pay, and claimed that the ring girls were making more money than the athletes competing inside the octagon.

"I know people that are making $10,000 to show, $10,000 to win, which is ridiculous because you're going out there and fighting and you're putting your brain cells on the line and f**king ring card girls are making $70,000, which is utterly f**king ridiculous," said Uriah Hall.

Hall is currently scheduled to compete against NFL Le'Veon Bell in a four-round boxing match. The fight will take place on the Jake Paul vs Anderson Silva fight card that is set for October 29.

Diego Sanchez recently competed in Eagle FC

Diego Sanchez was recently seen in action at an Eagle FC event. The 40-year-old took on Kevin Lee in a superlightweight bout (165 pounds) at Eagle FC 46.

The fight did not go Sanchez's way as Lee outscored him on all three judges' scorecards that night.

Prior to his debut at Eagle FC, Sanchez had a long and illustrious career in the UFC.

'The Nightmare' was the winner of the first season of 'The Ultimate Fighter'. During his stint in the multi-billion dollar promotion, Sanchez competed against numerous high-level athletes like Nick Diaz, B.J. Penn, Josh Koscheck, Michael Chiesa, Jim Miller and Al Iaquinta.

After being in the UFC for numerous years, Sanchez parted ways with the the promotion. 'The Nightmare's last outing in the UFC was in September 2020 when he took on Jake Matthews at UFC 253. Sanchez lost the fight via unanimous decision that night.
