Shamil Gaziev made his professional debut in professional mixed martial arts on October 24, 2020, in a heavyweight showdown against Denis Gvozdev. The duo faced each other at BFC 63: Belarusian Fighting Championship, and Gaziev rained a flurry of punches over Gvozdev in the first round to seize an aggressive first-round TKO victory. The successful outing to the MMA ring propelled Gaziev to the upper echelons of success in his professional career.
