Sean Strickland once humorously threw viral TikTok personality Dale Brown off balance during a playful mock combat exchange at a gun store event in Las Vegas. The self-proclaimed self-defense expert has generated traction on social media in recent years, becoming a highly divisive figure due to his survival tutorial videos.
Brown asserts that he has trained in eight distinct martial arts disciplines and, along with his wife Mirela, launched Detroit Urban Survival Training (D.U.S.T.), a self-defense system that has gained notable attention.
In January 2023, Strickland and Brown crossed paths at an event where the former UFC middleweight champion appeared to demonstrate his own self-defense skills. While delivering a light knee strike to the D.U.S.T. instructor, Strickland inadvertently sent him tumbling into a gun display table, causing it to topple over.
The polarizing MMA fighter quickly offered an apology, stating:

'Tarzan' was last seen in action in June 2024, where he claimed a hard-fought split decision victory over Paulo Costa at UFC 302. Following an eight-month hiatus, he is poised to make his return to the octagon, where he will challenge reigning 185-pound champion Dricus Du Plessis in the main event of UFC 312 on Feb. 9 at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.
When Sean Strickland challenged Dale Brown to a $200K fight in the desert
After their interaction at the gun store event, Dale Brown reflected on the incident in an interview, suggesting that he and Sean Strickland venture into the desert with only a cameraman to determine who would emerge victorious.
Strickland quickly responded with a social media video and extended an offer to Brown for a desert showdown while lashing out at him:
"You said you would meet me in the desert? I will make you a deal. Next week, the following week, whenever you’re free. I will buy your plane ticket. I will put you at whatever hotel you want. I will go take $200,000 in cash and I will put it in the sand. You can have that money. All you have to do is beat me. Just say when, man. I promise you we will do this whenever you want. The thing is, dude, you’re a fraud. You’re a phony. You’re a con-artist. You know you are. I know you are."
