Stephen Loman missed the ONE Fight Night 7 main event between Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker.

‘The Sniper’ is likely the next man in line for a ONE bantamweight title fight, but the Team Lakay standout admitted that he missed Fabricio Andrade’s victory last weekend while on a run. After watching teammate Danny Kingad score an impressive unanimous decision victory against Eko Roni Saptura, Loman had to go on a jog to work off some of his energy. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, ‘The Sniper’ said:

“After I watched Danny [Kingad’s] fight and victory, I was pumped. So I told myself that I would go for a jog for a while and come back to watch the main event.”

Stephen Loman did confirm that he made it back in time to see that Fabricio Andrade, the man he’ll likely square off with next, was victorious:

“But I didn’t make it in time. The only thing I caught was the announcement of the winner, but I was still pumped because I saw that Andrade won.”

In November, Loman earned his third straight win inside the circle, defeating former ONE bantamweight titleholder Bibiano Fernandes to secure his spot as the top contender for the bantamweight title. Now that the promotion has a new ONE world champion crowned, Fabricio Andrade vs. Stephen Loman will likely be the next big matchup for the division.

Though he missed the initial broadcast, Stephen Loman went back and watched Fabricio Andrade’s world title-winning performance at ONE Fight Night 7. ‘The Sniper’ was complimentary of both fighters who gave everything they had throughout the four-round affair:

“What a performance, what a great performance from the two fighters... They had an amazing match because both of the fighters wasted no time throwing their punches and kicks and they also absorbed the shots pretty well.”

Fabricio Andrade’s victory moved him to 6-0 inside the circle. After five fights in the span of 13 months and four straight knockouts, ‘Wonder Boy’ looks set to take a little time away from the circle to rest and relax. But Andrade’s competitive nature likely won’t keep him away from competition for too long.
