Stephen Loman expected John Lineker to get the job done against Fabricio Andrade once he was able to take ‘Wonder Boy’ to the mat.
Lineker and Andrade delivered another memorable matchup at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. Squaring off at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, the two heavy-hitting Brazilian stars delivered an instant classic to close out the show with the vacant ONE bantamweight world championship on the line.
In the early going, Lineker found success with his wrestling, muscling Andrade down to the canvas multiple times, but was unable to keep ‘Wonder Boy’ there. In an interview with The MMA Superfan, Team Lakay’s Stephen Loman was certain that Lineker’s ability to get Andrade down would ultimately lead to his victory.
“Yeah, because both fighters quickly exchanged on the feet. I really thought that when John wrestled Fabricio to the ground, he could’ve gotten the fight, but Fabricio managed to get back up.”

Fabricio Andrade scored the win thanks to a late barrage of strikes in the fourth round. With their fighter’s vision compromised, Lineker’s corner had no choice but to throw in the towel before the fifth and final round could get underway. Following the matchup, Lineker and Andrade buried the hatchet after the two shared some harsh words with one another leading up to the contest.
Stephen Loman was very impressed with Fabricio Andrade’s durability
As impressed as Stephen Loman was with Fabricio Andrade’s ability to get back to his feet in his ONE Fight Night 7 clash with John Lineker, ‘The Sniper’ was even more dazzled by the durability of ‘Wonder Boy’ who endured some massive shots from Lineker.
"John once again showed his wrestling,” Loman said. “Also, I felt that he really wanted to knock Fabricio out. Fabricio, though, managed to get back up on his feet. It’s really amazing how he can really absorb Lineker’s punches."
Seeing how Andrade performed against a dual threat like Lineker could prove to be invaluable for Stephen Loman as he will likely be the first man to challenge ‘Wonder Boy’ for the ONE bantamweight world title.
Riding a three-fight win streak, Loman punched his ticket to the pole position with a decisive win over former ONE bantamweight world champion Bibiano Fernandes at ONE on Prime Video 4 in November 2022.
