Hailing from Puerto Rico, Subriel Matias is a professional boxer in the light welterweight (140 lbs) class. Matias was born on March 31, 1992, in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. He is 5'9" (175 cm) tall with a 71-inch (180 cm) reach.

Matias' professional career began on December 19, 2015, when he gained a first-round technical knockout victory over Juan Rojas. The highlight of his career took place on February 25, 2023, when Matias won the vacant IBF junior welterweight title when he defeated Jeremias Ponce by way of fifth-round technical knockout. He successfully retained the title against Shohjahon Ergashev on November 25, 2023, by sixth-round retirement. Matias lost the IBF title against Liam Paro on June 15, 2024, by a unanimous decision. As of March 2025, Matias is scheduled to lock horns against Teofimo Lopez for the WBO junior welterweight title on March 15, 2025.
