‘The Kicking Machine’ Superlek Kiatmoo9 believes his next opponent, Rodtang Jitmuangnon, stands above many other foreign competitors because of his spectacular Muay Thai skills.

On March 24, Superlek will put his newly won ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship on the line in a long-awaited super fight with ‘The Iron Man’ Rodtang as part of the promotion's ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video card.

It’s a matchup fans have been clamoring for and one that is sure to excite as the two Muay Thai warriors strap on 8oz gloves for a kickboxing clash.

Ahead of their meeting, 'The Kicking Machine' spoke with ONE Championship, sharing his thoughts on Rodtang and what made him so successful inside the circle:

“Muay Thai allows you to punch, kick, elbow, and knee, but many foreign fighters usually just focus on their punch. But Rodtang’s punch is good, with additional dangerous Muay Thai weapons, so he is always superior to those opponents.”

As the reigning ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion, Rodtang Jitmuangnon is celebrated for his work in the art of eight limbs, but he goes into his ONE Fight Night 8 clash undefeated in ONE Championship kickboxing bouts. His last kickboxing matchup saw ‘The Iron Man’ dominate Chinese striker Jiduo Yibu in January.

Superlek hopes to dethrone Rodtang in Muay Thai one day

When ‘The Kicking Machine’ meets ‘The Iron Man’ inside the circle next Friday night, it won’t be the way many fans expected it to happen. Instead of the two Muay Thai standouts squaring off for Rodtang’s ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title, it will be Superlek’s ONE flyweight kickboxing crown up for grabs.

However, if he can hand ‘The Iron Man’ his first kickboxing defeat under the ONE Championship banner, he will have a pretty strong claim as the top contender to Rodtang’s 26 pounds of gold. For Superlek, that would mean an opportunity to make his father’s dream come true not once, but twice.

“He tells me to concentrate on my practice, to take care of myself, and don’t stay up so late. When I have a fight, he always encourages me to focus. He really wants to see me become the [ONE] world champion one day, and I’d like to make his dream come true.”
