Takeru Segawa is a Japanese kickboxer born on July 29, 1991, in Yonago, Japan. While growing up, he was an avid fan of professional wrestling and kickboxing. He took up kickboxing as a profession after getting inspired by Andy Hug who won the 1996 K-1 Grand Prix.
Takeru Segawa is acclaimed as a crafty kickboxer who has a wide range of front kicks and push and snap kicks from the lead leg. He is regarded as one of the best professionals in his sport in his generation. Takeru has been competing on the professional circuit since 2008 and won the K-1 Super Bantamweight Championship in 2015 by defeating Taiga Kawabe.
