Tatsuro Taira made his professional debut in mixed martial arts on August 3, 2018, at Shooto: This is Shooto 2 against Yo Otake. He finished his rival Otake inside the first round with the help of a triangle choke and secured a submission victory to kick off his professional career. On May 14, 2022, Tatsuro Taira entered the octagon for the first time in the elite UFC. He locked horns with Carlos Candelario at UFC on ESPN: Blachowicz vs. Rakic. Taira secured a unanimous decision victory in the bout and maintained his perfect record while going forward in the promotion.
