Muay Thai titleholder Tawanchai PK. Saenchai believes Jamal Yusupov’s combat experience won’t be enough to beat him at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video.

The Muay Thai king is unabashedly confident as he heads towards his first world title defense on February 24 in Thailand. After all, he dethroned long-reigning world champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee by unanimous decision for the featherweight strap at ONE 161 in Singapore.

Hence, in comparison to Petchmorakot’s fighting resume, Jamal Yusupov’s extensive combat experience doesn’t seem to faze Tawanchai one bit. In a recent interview with ONE Championship, the 23-year-old phenom said:

“Of course he has extensive fighting experiences, but they’re not superior to mine.”

The Thai superstar is hoping to hold the featherweight world title for many years to come. As such, he won’t let his Turkish counterpart take away what he’s worked so hard to build.

The Pattaya striker's first professional experience came at the age of 14, competing against the country’s top strikers at the junior level at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand. He continued his winning streak until his late teens, winning multiple Fighter of the Year awards before getting signed by ONE Championship in October 2020.

Meanwhile, Turkish veteran Yamal Yusupov is a multi-time Russian Muay Thai and kickboxing champion. Although the divisional king downplays his abilities, Yusupov is a dangerous striker with mad knockout power.

His latest victory against Thailand’s Jo Nattawut in July 2022 proved that he has the potential to make Tawanchai’s first world title defense into a real nightmare.

Fans react to Tawanchai’s lean look ahead of world title defense

Tawanchai PK. Saenchai was proud to display his incredible body transformation one week ahead of his world title bout.

The PK.Saenchai Muay Thai Gym representative has been working overtime to get his weight within the standard weight limit so there are no difficulties before fight day.

Posing for the camera, the Pattaya native shared a photo of himself looking lean and healthy, which prompted many of his followers to comment the following reactions:
