When he's not putting on fight-of-the-year contender wars inside the cage, Michael Chandler can be found giving inspirational speeches on his social media accounts. The UFC lightweight has now shared insight on how to succeed in life.

'Iron' has been a well-known figure in the sport of mixed martial arts for over a decade, and has countless memorable moments inside the steel walls to show for it. A three-time Bellator 155lb champion, the most wins in the promotion's lightweight history, and the 2021 FOTY are some of his many accolades in MMA.

While addressing fan questions on his YouTube channel, Michael Chandler shared an empowering speech on how to get out of bad habits and set yourself on a path to greatness, saying:

"It always helps me when I can really get in a rhythm of waking up in the morning at the exact right time... If you wake up before your alarm, you have that moment where you can wake up before your alarm and you can shut it off, go and grab a cup of coffee, sit there, visualize your day, acknowledge ten things that you're grateful for, thank God for another day. Sit that moment in silence where you woke up before your alarm, you didn't snooze and you didn't lay there a little bit longer. That's one of the biggest keys to success and that's a very practical thing that you can do."

Chandler attributes the path to success to trusting yourself, and that begins with as small a task as getting out of bed in the morning and going about your day. If you're able to push through tough moments and have trust in yourself, then the UFC star believes you're on the right track.

Michael Chandler's return to the octagon

After competing in such a grueling matchup against Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler will likely spend some time away from the cage. Who's next for him when he returns?

The 36-year-old has had his eyes on Conor McGregor ever since making the jump over from Bellator and joining the UFC ranks, and it seems Dana White is keen on the matchup as well.

During a recent interview, the UFC president announced his interest in making the fight happen, and Chandler believes that it will be the "fastest-paced, craziest first-round" in MMA history.
