Tim Tszyu is an Australian professional boxer who once held the World Boxing Organization's (WBO) light-middleweight title. He started as an amateur in the sport, where he fared well and amassed an impressive record of 33 wins and 1 loss. He was interested in sports since his childhood, starting as a gymnast and then turning to association football at the tender age of 10. After turning 15, Tszyu eventually shifted his interest toward boxing. Tszyu made his professional debut at the age of 22. In his first professional fight, he locked horns with Zorran Cassady in a six-round bout on December 17, 2016. Tszyu won the fight by a unanimous decision to kick off his career with a win. He kept producing spectacular results for himself while defeating his rivals one after the other.

Tim Tszyu faced Tony Harrison on March 12, 2023, in a twelve-round boxing bout for the vacant WBO interim light-middleweight title. He finished Harisson in style by finishing him in the ninth round via a TKO to win the title. Currently, as of October 17, 2024, Tim Tszyu has fought 25 professional fights, winning 24 of them. He has 17 knockouts and 7 decision victories to his record. Tszyu's only loss in his professional career came against Sebastian Fundora on March 30, 2024, at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, USA.

Tim Tszyu Father and Mother

Tim Tszyu was born to Kostya and Natasha Anikana on November 2, 1994, in Sydney, Australia. While information on his mother is limited, Tszyu's father, Kostya Tszyu, was the former light-welterweight world champion in boxing, which included the undisputed and lineal titles between 2001 and 2005. Kostya retired in 2005 with a record of 31 wins, 2 losses, and 1 no-contest.

Does Tim Tszyu have a relationship with his father?

Tim Tszyu and his legendary International Boxing Hall of Famer father, Kostya, share a complicated relationship. He has been largely absent from the undefeated Aussie WBO light-middleweight champion’s life. Kostya left for Russia and married another woman, leaving his family in Australia behind to start a new family.

On Tim Tszyu’s professional debut in 2016 against Zorran Cassady Kostya showed up ringside. The closely fought bout between the two fighters seemingly irritated Kostya, and Tszyu later termed his father's presence at the event “chaotic.” Despite all the conflict and complications, Kostya has claimed to have a close relationship with Tim Tszyu. However, Tszyu’s mother has maintained that Kostya remained absent from his kids' lives and they built themselves on their own.
