Merab Dvalishvili, Aljamain Sterling’s close friend and teammate, is also a realistic next opponent for Dillashaw, who will likely be sidelined all the way until 2024. Sterling has stated that when Dvalishvili is in title contention, he will move up to featherweight, making a rematch implausible.
Dvalishvili, nicknamed ‘The Machine’, is one or two wins away from a title shot currently.
