The No.11 ranked flyweight contender in the women’s division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Tracy Cortez has been a phenomenal persona both in and out of the cage. She made her promotional debut inside the octagon in 2019, and before that, she competed in other promotions like Invicta FC, Combate Americas, V3 Fights, World Fighting Federation, etc.

Tracy Cortez started training in mixed martial arts at the age of 14 and her elder brother was her inspiration to go professional with the sport. Her elder brother, Jose Cortez, is a former mixed martial artist who had dreams of getting into the Ultimate Fighting Championship one day. Unfortunately, he died in 2011 without making his dream come true. Hence, the fact that her brother tried to be a better fighter even while fighting against cancer gave her all the motivation and inspiration she required. And therefore, she fights for the promotion in his remembrance and still finds his unaccomplished dream as an extra push in her professional career and life in general.

Unlike many UFC contenders, Tracy Cortez did not have a favorable result in her professional debut. She debuted as a flyweight at Invicta FC 25 against Cheri Muraski on August 31, 2017. And Cortez got stopped with a guillotine choke submission at 2:42 in the second round of the fight. However, Tracy Cortez is a phenomenal fighter and thus immediately bounced back from her debut loss in the next one. And till now, she has not lost to anyone else in her professional career so far.

Moreover, the 30-year-old women’s flyweight is set to make her next outing against the former two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas. This time Cortez will be headlining the fight night event against Namajunas which is scheduled to take place on July 13, 2024, at the Ball Arena in Denver, United States. And this will be one of the most crucial fights in her entire career so far. Hence, fans are eagerly waiting for the matchup to finally take place.

Tracy Cortez’s MMA record

Starting her professional career in 2017, Tracy Cortez currently boasts a record of 11 wins and only 1 loss so far. The majority of her wins are via decision(9), knockout(1), and submission(1), respectively. Moreover, Cortez is currently on an eleven-fight win streak. Hence, her record surely builds up to her next fight against Rose Namajunas.
