Australian mixed martial artist Tyson Pedro was born on September 17, 1991, and he competes in the light heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Pedro called UFC president Dana White and personally requested that he compete at UFC Night: Whittaker vs. Brunson in Melbourne, should any fighters withdraw out of the event, after defeating Kiwi Steven Warby at the Australian Fighting Championship 17 by rear-naked choke. Luke Rockhold withdrew from the fight due to a sprained anterior cruciate ligament, and Pedro was added to the card in his place.

At UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs. Brunson on November 15, 2016, Pedro made his promotional debut against Khalil Rountree. He received a Performance of the Night bonus for winning the bout via submission in round one. On March 4, 2017, Pedro and Paul Craig squared off at UFC 209. A first-round TKO gave him the victory. On September 9, 2017, Ilir Latifi and Pedro squared off at UFC 215. Pedro suffered his first professional defeat as a result of Latifi's unanimous decision victory.

On August 20, 2022, Pedro and Harry Hunsucker squared off at UFC 278. He stopped Hunsucker with a front kick to the body and ground and pound to win the fight. On February 12, 2023, Pedro was slated to compete against Zhang Mingyang at UFC 284.

Mingyang, however, withdrew for an unspecified cause, and Modestas Bukauskas took his position. He was defeated by a unanimous decision. On September 10, 2023, Pedro and Anton Turkalj squared off against each other at UFC 293. He made quick work of Turkalj and defeated him via a first-round KO.
