Max came back and landed a big right, and then got caught. Holloway landed a good right and Ortega landed an elbow. Both fighters exchanged rights, but Holloway seemed like he had the advantage of catching the big right and then a knee. Ortega came back and landed a headkick.

Round 2: Holloway continued with significant jabs and a leg kick. Ortega had to keep backing away as Holloway followed him down. Ortega came back with a couple of big shots. Holloway caught two jabs and right to his face. He kept going with the jabs and then another right hand. Holloway caught Ortega with a big shot and he almost fell. Ortega was bleeding badly, as Holloway followed him. Ortega came back with a combo of his own.

Holloway landed a right and a head kick. Holloway had taken the control, but was still eating elbows and rights from Ortega. Holloway battered at Ortega with elbows. Ortega landed a good elbow but caught with a jab again as his nose was badly hurt. Holloway kept closing the distance and hitting his opponent with good shots. Ortega kept coming back with bigger shots.

Holloway hit the rights and backed away. Ortega connected with a big right as the round came to a close.

Round 3: Ortega came out strong with left kicks, and looked like had more confidence. Holloway landed a good right, but was hit with a couple of shots by Ortega and Holloway wobbled.

Ortega took him down and almost took his back, but Max came out of it. Both men were hurt, and Ortega threw a spinning elbow and a leg kick. Holloway and Ortega mixed it up in the middle of the Octagon. They traded blows, and Ortega landed big shots. Holloway kept at it, with shots to the face.

Round 4: Holloway poured it out in the 4th round with big rights and lefts. He went at Ortega leaving his opponent worried. Holloway shot right after right after right and kept shooting with body and face shots. Ortega looked like he might fall but came back with a right of his own.

Max kept the pressure up continuously and he connected, snapping Ortega's head back again and again. Ortega did not look bad at all, and even escaped a Guillotine. Holloway continued pounding away at Ortega who fell badly. Holloway followed up and this round was all Max Holloway.

Ortega's eye was closed up and there was no way that the doctor would allow the fight to continue. Ortega is no longer undefeated.
