Matthews looked fast and agile against Velickovic but didn’t get off too much offence in any of the rounds.
Regardless, Matthews crisp combos, that were brief and far between, seemed to impress the judges who scored the bout for him. Matthews still has a ways to go, with regards to rounding up his MMA game, and his win Down Under is another step in the right direction.

#5 Elias Theodorou vs Dan Kelly
Theodorou seemed tentative in the early going, despite enjoying a sizeable athleticism advantage over Dan Kelly.
The fight was slow-paced and saw both fighters’ styles clash; resulting in a fairly uneventful showdown. Theodorou was adjudged the winner in the end.

#6 Alexander Volkanovski vs Shane Young
Volkanovski beat Young from pillar to post.
In fact, Volkanovski was really close to finishing Young on multiple occasions throughout the bout, and kudos to the latter for surviving to see the final bell. Volkanovski showed great poise on the feet as well as the mat en route to a decision victory.
