#2. Wellington Turman vs. Karl Roberson (Middleweight)
22-year-old Brazilian Wellington Turman was on a four-fight win streak while New Jersey native Karl Roberson was looking to bounce back from his loss against Glover Teixeria.
The fight kicked off after a programming glitch courtesy of ESPN. Turman began strong by taking Roberson down. He took side control and looked to lock in the Guillotine. Roberson fought smartly, though, and tipped the scales in his favour by turning into Turman's guard. Turman kept looking for a finish as he went for an armbar but got slammed in the process. Roberson was on top now as he ended the round with ground and pound.

Turman deployed a similar strategy in the second round as he wrapped his arms around Roberson with the body lock and looked for a takedown. He took Roberson down to the mat with two minutes to go and controlled his positions really well to win the second round.
Turman executed another takedown to begin round three and that seemed like it would have been enough to get him the win if he had managed to hold on. However, Roberson was resilient tonight. He powered his way out of a rear-naked choke and an armbar to get on top of Turman. Roberson landed three big shots from the top before seeing out the round in a strong position. The finish is what convinced the judges to score the fight in favour of Roberson.
Result: Karl Roberson def. Wellington Turman via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28)
Turman may feel hard done by the loss as it could have gone anyway. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, it the judges gave Roberson a big win.
