Round 1: Jimmie Rivera started off aggressively and tried to back Cody Stamann against the fence. Rivera managed to knock Stamann down halfway into the round but Stamann managed to reverse it into a compromising position for Rivera. They were separated and Rivera overreached and got a counter.

Round 2: Cody Stamann took Jimmy Rivera down but couldn't keep him down for long. Rivera reversed the position and almost took Stamann's back and tried to get a choke but was unable to do so. The second round was a lot more even. Rivera landed a big one, but there wasn't as much action in round two

Round 3: Cody Stamann looked for the takedown, but Jimmie Rivera's takedown defense proved too strong for him. Cody Stamann landed a body shot but the story has been of Rivera throwing more and leading first. Stamann landed an effective counter but Rivera went for a combination in the final 30 seconds of the fight. Rivera ate another right but was moving forward, significantly outstriking Stamann through the fight.
