The combat crazy Irish fans expected their hometown hero, Paddy Holohan to shut Louis Smolka, but it didn’t go quite the way they envisioned it as Smolka silenced the Dublin crowd by submitting Holohan via a rear naked choke in the second round.
After the scrapping of the Rothwell-Miocic and Poirer-Duffy fights, an air of uncertainty clouded the entire proceedings, yet Holohan and Smolka made it a point to leave the fans satisfied by putting on a high-energy bout.
Holohan kept Smolka on his toes by applying constant pressure since the onset of the bell and unloaded a barrage of swift leg kicks and punches.
The technical prowess of Smolka, though, got the better of the Irish as after a momentary takedown, Smolka got hold of Holohan’s back and finished the job off, much to the disappointment of the fans in attendance.

All in all, the main event and the Dalby-Till fight made for a good Fight Night, which was on the verge of being a passable event.
