The former UFC champ who lost his belt to Anthony Pettis- by a brilliantly executed armbar back in August 2013- will be looking to get back to winning ways this Saturday night.

His recent attempt to win back the title against Dos Anjos too was a failure. Moreover, he even lost his subsequent match-up against Donald “the Cowboy” Cerrone, which took him even further away from his belt.

He did, however, win his last fight against Brandon Thatch and another win here against the experienced Jorge Masvidal will certainly get him back in contention. He will, however, have to wait his turn (presuming that he wins over a well-rounded Masvidal) since the current champ-Dos Anjos- looks to defend his title against Cerrone.

The undefeated Nurmagomedov too looks to be waiting in line.

Other fights on the card include Dong Huan Kim taking on the American, Dominic Waters. Stylistically speaking, this match is sure to go to the ground since the Korean is a Judo practitioner while his opponent likes to take people down (having a 100% takedown accuracy).

Another Korean, Yoshihiro Akiyama, who again is adept at Judo (having won gold at the Asian Games) will look to take on the explosive Brazilian, Alberto Mina who has been undefeated in his 11 fight career. Therefore, the result will largely depend on whether the fight stays to a stand-up game or goes to the ground.

In the featherweight division, Doo Ho Choi who (for a change) completely resorts to striking will take on the American, Sam Sicilia who too is known for his striking and one punch knockout power. This one is sure to be an entertainer with a very meagre chance of the fight going the distance.

Fight Night 79 sure promises to be an entertainer with many up and coming fighters getting a shot at the spotlight. Below is the complete fight card-
