Firstly, it was the return of Brandon Moreno. After having lost two fights at the end of his career with UFC, it appeared that Moreno and UFC were done. Moreno left and went on to fight and win at LFA. Fortunately for him, he was called back to the card for this fight.
Secondly, heading into the fight, Askar Askarov was THE prospect in UFC. Making his debut with a 10-fight undefeated streak, this was the fight that everyone had been waiting for. Unfortunately for him, it was not to be. He was not quite able to continue his streak.
The fight saw both men get in some offense. It appeared that Askarov came away as the better man in the first round on the ground, but the second round was all about Moreno. When the fight ended there was no way to call who had won the fight, and that was the decision that the judges reached.
