Just 14 days after Conor McGregor made history by being the first to hold two UFC titles simultaneously, The Notorious one had let go of his 145-pound belt. As a result, Jose Aldo was made Featherweight Champion.
Now the Brazilian legend is willing to move up to the Lightweight division in order to get his long awaited rematch against McGregor. Just like the Irishman, Aldo too has expressed his new desire to fight in two divisions.
As per Flocombat.com, this is what Aldo had to say:

“I want to get a fight with Conor, but as he is running from the fight, I want to see how things are going to be in the division. But we will fight at lightweight. I don’t want to fight him at featherweight. I’m the champion, and I’ve been beating everyone.”
“I want to fight in another division, too, since this is possible now. It is not possible just for one guy. I will ask for a fight, and I will also deny fights if I want to. Since (Dana White) said that he doesn’t force anybody to fight… This is me right now,” he added.
Aldo had some harsh words about interim belts. The Featherweight champion opines that the interim belt isn’t worthy of a title but is only an excuse to save events. Aldo says he wouldn’t mind defending his belt with or without Holloway.
He also added that he would love to fight in another division, especially if he is offered a super fight. Clearly, this means that Aldo wants to fight McGregor for his new Lightweight strap; so he too could be a two-division champion.
The Brazilian recently visited UFC president Dana White to settle the heat between them. Aldo was willing to retire when White made him realise that he was under the contract with the UFC and he could do nothing about it.
Aldo has changed his mind lately and now appears to be willing to compete in the Octagon once again.
