It has been reported that the legal team of Brock Lesnar has filed for a continuance of the Nevada Athletic Commission’s (NAC) disciplinary hearing regarding his doping case.

On July 15th, USADA announced that Brock Lesnar had violated the anti-doping policy by consuming a banned substance. Another test that was held on the day of his UFC 200 fight and it exhibited provided positive results for the same substance.

In the following month, the NAC confirmed that Brock had been using an anti-estrogen agent clomiphene and penalised Lesnar with a temporary suspension.

The request to delay the hearing was made by his attorney Howard Jacobs, who stated that they were waiting for certain reports.

Jacobs mentioned that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion was having his foot cream tested, under the supervision of USADA, to determine the presence of clomiphene in it. As the results won’t be available prior to the scheduled hearing date (November 10, 2016), they have requested a continuance.

Generally, such requests are granted. If the same happens for the case of Lesnar, then the hearing will be delayed until December.

Depending on the verdict of the hearing, both USADA and NAC may get the authority to suspend Lesnar. The latter will be able to impose a fine as well. Although the suspension from USADA can extend up to a year only, there is no limit for the time period of an NAC suspension.

Due to this scenario involving Lesnar, his UFC 200 opponent Mark Hunt has been staking claim to the entire amount that was paid to the Beast for their fight. As of now, UFC hasn’t officially responded to such demands.
