In words of the man himself - "The king is back!"
The MMA world has been sent into a frenzy with the announcement of a certain Irishman's comeback to the Octagon. On 18th January, UFC 246 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada is going to be headlined by the former UFC 'Champ-Champ' Conor McGregor and Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone in a massive non-title welterweight clash.
At a press conference held in Moscow back in October, McGregor said that he will be returning on 18th January but refused to reveal the name of his opponent. UFC President Dana White also said that talks were underway for McGregor's comeback bout but he failed to confirm if the deal was indeed sealed. Now the fight has been made official and we can't wait to see how McGregor performs on his comeback bout.
The only worry for the Irishman is the fact that it is a welterweight bout. McGregor has been a featherweight champ in the past and he looked most comfortable fighting at lightweight but his previous stints at welterweight have been a bit tricky.

He fought Nate Diaz twice at welterweight and what shone through was his lack of knockout power against the bigger guys. However, looking at McGregor's latest pictures, any doubts of him being too small for the weight class have been put to rest. The Notorious One looks as ripped as ever and he has visibly gained some more pounds, making him look like a physical specimen. (h/t BJ Penn)
McGregor is in dire need of a victory against Cowboy after succumbing to defeat against Khabib Nurmagomedov. Cerrone is definitely not a pushover and his skill and agility are bound to pose a lot of problems to the former champ McGregor.
