UFC Heavyweight Mark Hunt is not a happy man after his three round match up with former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar at UFC 200 earlier this year, as the WWE star tested positive for a banned substance by the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) after the bout.
Hunt wants to use his platform to bring about change across MMA, and also to receive compensation for the danger he was put in, against Lesnar. Here’s what he said to Ariel Helwani this past Monday on the MMA hour (courtesy of MMA fighting):
"As soon as we find out what happens with Brock Lesnar, of course. I want compensation for what’s happened and I want a change. Either that or release me from my contract. Like I said, if you’re not going to make it an even playing field or a fair go, you’re not going to put a clause in my contract that says that makes me a feel a bit more better, well then why should I…I’m already in a contract I can’t get out of.

Hunt went on to justify his statement:
"The way I look at it is, why should my family miss out? Why should I miss out on chasing my dreams because of these dopers. People say, well Mark, you knew he was doping before, well no I didn’t. I never tested him myself, I assumed he was. Look at him…there’s no way that guy’s not on steroids. Coming from WWE, which is an entertainment sport, which is not ever real competition."
Hunt and Lesnar met in the co-main event of UFC 200 earlier in July in Las Vegas, where Lesnar took home a unanimous decision win after ground and pounding away at the Samoan for 15 minutes. It was Lesnar’s first bout in years since leaving the sport due to health concerns, and it was later made known that the former professional wrestling star tested positive for a banned substance.
With Hunt seeming intent on leaving the UFC, if Lesnar is not punished to his liking, it is very much possible that we have seen his last fight in the Octagon.
