Undefeated UFC prospect calls for Nate Landwehr firefight

Nate Landwehr put on yet another entertaining fight on Saturday night, extending his winning streak to three in the UFC. It seems his performance hasn't gone unnoticed as he becomes the target for one rising featherweight prospect.

'The Train' prides himself on putting on a showcase each and every time he steps foot into the cage and that was no different last night when he scored a submission win over Austin Lingo. This was his third straight post-fight bonus from the UFC as he continues to live up to the all-action name attached to his fighting style.

After witnessing Nate Landwehr collect his third win in a row on Saturday night, undefeated British star Lerone Murphy has called for the promotion to book the pair together next if he isn't awarded a ranked opponent.

"I think me vs. Nate Landwehr would be fire in July. We were supposed to fight last year. Four-fight win streak vs. three [fight win streak] (if they don't give me a top 15-ranked opponent)."

Nate Landwehr is a former M-1 featherweight champion who made two defenses of his strap before signing for the UFC back in early 2020. While his start to life in the octagon didn't go as planned—losing two of his opening three bouts—he has now cemented himself as a must-watch fighter who always puts on a show.

While a clash between the two featherweights may not unfold, it arguably has all the ingredients to steal the show on whichever card it is added to and take home fight-of-the-night honors.

Lerone Murphy has established himself as a real threat in the 145lb division and managed to hand the tough Gabriel Santos his first loss in MMA despite being out of action for almost two years.

There are a number of options at 'The Miracle's disposal, and if he isn't offered his preferred choice. Along with Nate Landwehr, a collision against fellow rising British talent Nathaniel Wood could be on the cards.

Wood and Murphy have been feuding over social media in recent weeks after their proposed bout was canceled through injury. 'The Prospect' is on a two-fight win streak since making the move to featherweight and there's keen interest amongst UK fans for the UFC to rebook their barnburner bout in the near future.
