Warlley Alves was born on January 1, 1991, in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He initially started training in kickboxing in his childhood and won three Brazilian kickboxing championships in due course. Alves made his professional mixed martial arts debut on April 7, 2011, against Wallace Oliveira at Celeiro Combat 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He defeated Oliveira in the inaugural fight of his professional career via submission with a rear naked choke in the first round.

Warlley Alves cruised on to amass an impressive win streak of ten fights in his professional career after making his professional debut in mixed martial arts. He encountered the first loss of his professional career against Bryan Barberena at UFC 198 on May 14, 2016, in Curitiba, Brazil. Barberena ended his streak by winning the fight by unanimous decision.

Warlley Alves made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on May 31, 2014, against Marcio Alexandre Jr. at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale: Miocic vs. Maldonado in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He won the bout via submission in the third round of the fight. As of now, he has a professional mixed martial arts record of 14 wins and 7 losses.
