Figueiredo is set to defend the flyweight belt for a third time versus Brandon Moreno in what will be the pair's fourth contest. Their long rivalry began in December 2020 when the two met for the first time and put on a Fight of the Night performance. The bout was so close that it ended as a majority draw, meaning the Brazilian retained the belt.
Figueiredo and 'The Assassin Baby' faced off twice more to settle who was king of the division, with Moreno winning the second fight and Figueiredo taking victory in the trilogy.
Their epic contests have resulted in the head-to-head being tied at 1-1-1, and at UFC 283, the two flyweights face off for a record fourth time in a bout that fans hope will finally settle their rivalry.

Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno exchange words ahead of record fourth bout
Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno have exchanged some stern words as the pair prepare for their fourth contest at UFC 283.
During UFC 283 media day, Figueiredo stated that the biggest difference heading into their upcoming contest is that he believes Moreno now "fears" him as a fighter:
“I’m Brandon’s nightmare. Unfortunately, this is the only fight that UFC has to sell. Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno… I think the biggest difference is his fear of me. He can’t stand me, and I think that’s what makes the biggest difference.”

Brandon Moreno had his own opportunity to share his thoughts on the flyweight champ when he spoke to SHAK MMA. According to the Mexican fighter, all the Brazilian has done since their first fight is talk "sh*t":
"Since the first fight, he's talking sh*t about me. Then, [when] I beat him in the second fight, the guy hugged me and lifted me up and whatever, and then next week he started to talk sh*t again about me. After the Kai Kara-France fight, he came to the octagon trying to find some problems... Then, next week, he started to talk sh*t again about me. That's too much. I think that's enough reason to not like the guy."
