'The General' Jonathan Haggerty has shown some impressive skills in the ONE circle. The Englishman is known for his multiple wars against Rodtang Jitmuangnon and his dominant win against the current ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion Joseph Lasiri.
ONE Championship recently shared Haggerty's full battle with Lasiri on its YouTube channel:
"We throw it back to British striking superstar Jonathan Haggerty’s phenomenal debut against ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Joseph Lasiri 2019!"

Over the full three rounds, Haggerty showed impressive work, striking with power from range. In close quarters and in the clinch, 'The General' showed a significant strength advantage. He even earned a knockdown with a downward elbow.
The fight was mostly one-way traffic and Haggerty picked the Moroccan-Italian apart with powerful kicks and elbows. Lasiri would get a few punches in here and there. Ultimately, the decision went to Haggerty.
Jonathan Haggerty and Joseph Lasiri after the battle
After crossing paths, Lasiri and Haggerty would both fight and earn ONE gold. After losing to 'The General', Lasiri changed weight classes and gyms to startling effect.
Earlier this year, Lasiri dethroned Prajanchai PK.Saenchai to capture the ONE strawweight Muay Thai world championship.
After defeating Lasiri, Haggerty would defeat Sam-A Gaiyanghadao to earn the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world title before losing the crown to Rodtang.
Despite his recent success, Lasiri has always wanted to avenge his loss to Haggerty. Speaking in an interview with Fighters First, 'The Hurricane' explained:
"I'd like to fight Jonathan Haggerty. Even if in a higher [weight] category... It's something personal... It's something inside me, I want to fight Haggerty."

A rematch seems extremely unlikely as both have gone to different weight classes in opposing directions. The Moroccan-Italian moved down in weight to strawweight, while Haggerty struggled to make the flyweight limit and has since moved up to bantamweight.
The British striker made his bantamweight debut last month with a win against Russia's Vladimir Kuzmin. Haggerty has called out the top five bantamweight Muay Thai strikers in ONE Championship.
