It won’t be surprising if Liam Harrison has trouble finding an opponent on his ONE Championship return.
The English superstar recently posted a video to his Instagram account of him hitting pads this year with four-ounce gloves. Many of the punches, elbows, and knees are so quick that they can barely be seen in the video.
Take a look at the video below:

Some comments on the training footage posted by Liam Harrison:
@ahmadmohammad6154 compared Harrison to two superheroes (even if they're in different universes):
“Fast like flash, strong like hulk”
@slias.asif found great personal pleasure in Harrison tearing through the pads:
“There’s nobody in the world more satisfying to see hit pads”
@alessio.bertol wonders if 'The Hitman' may actually be part-cyborg:
“They are not punches…but missiles
Unfortunately, the anticipation for Liam Harrison will take a while to keep building, as the Muay Thai star will sit out to recover from knee surgery. He was supposed to fight megastar boxer Floyd Mayweather earlier this year, but due to injury had to pull out. He’s hoping to rebook that once he’s fully recovered.
Liam Harrison explains Paddy Pimblett why turning your back in a Muay Thai fight is a bad idea
While Liam Harrison waits to make his return, he’s been reminiscing about his long career in Muay Thai on social media.
He spoke with Paddy Pimblett on Pimblett’s podcast, Chattin Pony with Paddy Pimblett, last year about an experience where he was penalized in Muay Thai for turning his back on his opponent.
Here’s where Harrison tells the story of a fight in Thailand gone wrong:
“Trial and error ... When I first went to Thailand and as a teenager years ago I never knew certain techniques could have such a huge effect on the outcome of the fight…I knew it was bad but didn’t realise it was that bad 🤣. Lesson learned the hard way. #muaythai #thailand #liamharrison #paddypimblett.”
Harrison wound up losing a fight that he thought he should have won because of his habit of turning his back on his opponent. Many years and fights later, Harrison has fought over a hundred times in Muay Thai and held eight world championships.
He’s fought for a who’s who in Muay Thai, at Rajadamnern Stadium, for MAX Muay Thai, Glory, Lion Fight, and now for ONE Championship. Over half of his 90 wins came via knockout.
Most recently, Harrison battled featherweight world champion Nong-O Hama for the belt last August, falling by TKO.
