Superlek Kiatmoo9 had a great year in 2022, winning all three of his bouts inside the circle to set up a big 2023.
Though due to both opponents missing weight, the final of the flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix was canceled and replaced with a catchweight bout, the Thai fighter still won all of his fights in the tournament. Though he wasn’t officially crowned the winner, he got his hand raised against Panpayak Jitmuangnon with a split decision win.
In a recent clip on Instagram, Mitch Chilson showcased another one of his videos where he gets some of the biggest names in ONE Championship to demonstrate their signature moves.
With four steps, he showed Chilson his step-in elbow that he used to drop and finish Walter Goncalves in the semi-finals of the Grand Prix:

Superlek Kiatmoo9 to face Daniel Puertas for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video
Scheduled to compete for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world championship, Superlek Kiatmoo9 had a sudden change of opponent more than a week out. At ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, he was scheduled to face Ilias Ennahaci in a rematch of their bout from 2021 but the champion chose to vacate his title.
Ennahachi won the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title in his ONE Championship debut in August 2019. However, he vacated his world championship after failing to make the 135-pound limit whilst hydrated.
ONE Championship announced in an Instagram post that Spain’s Daniel Puertas will replace Ennahachi in the co-main event of the Bangkok card on January 13th. ONE Championship posted on Instagram:
“Ilias Ennahachi has vacated the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Championship due to an inability to make the flyweight 135-pound limit while hydrated. As a result, Superlek Kiatmoo9 will now face off with Daniel Puertas for the vacant World Title.”
After a brilliant showing in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix, Superlek returns to kickboxing looking to carry over his momentum from Muay Thai into a second sport.
He last competed in kickboxing in 2021 where he faced Ennahachi in the Dutch striker’s second world title defense. This was the Thai fighter's last loss, going on a great run in Muay Thai following that contest.
Stepping into Ennahachi’s place is one of Europe's best strikers. Spain’s Daniel Puertas is a two-time ISKA kickboxing champion. He came into the fight off of a split decision win over Jidou Yibu at ONE: Full Circle in February 2022.
